FAQ
I am interested in joining the MegaZebra team. How do I go about it?
Call us or email us, if your position is not listed under vacancies. MegaZebra always loves to hear from talented individuals. Who knows, we may create a vacancy just for you!
Or apply for one of the jobs listed. (Please no paper applications.)
What should I include in my application?
The usual stuff: CV including your prior career steps and training, perhaps some work samples or reference projects, anything that shows off your skills, achievements and previous work experience.
Also, tell us a bit about yourself: Why you chose this particular career path, why you would like to work for MegaZebra, your goals, ambitions…. and of course your favourite computer game(s). Format: Any, as long as it fits through an Ethernet cable.
MegaZebra likes my skills, inner values and style of music, what happens next?
First, whoever put out that rumour will have to buy a round at the Oktoberfest. We do not select our team-members based on their music taste (most types of music are already represented at MegaZebra), rather, we believe in the beauty of diversity.
To answer your question: Generally, MegaZebra will invite you to come here for an interview, and possibly a practical task to solve. This could be a programming problem, design task or knowledge quiz.
I am not sure what to expect when I go for the interview?
The Management will ask you some fairly simple questions.
You may also be asked to do some practical off-the-cuff coding or designing, or explain a marketing plan… whatever you specialize in. In some cases, you may even have to show your proficiency at either Nuzzle Puzzle or tabletop soccer.
How long after my application until I can expect to hear from you?
It depends. Let's assume we are swept off our feet by your charm and genius, then we'll hire you on the spot. Generally, we support transparent communication processes and like to keep all the parties involved posted. So if there are other contenders for the job and you are short-listed, we'll let you know what's happening within a week.
Will MegaZebra pay for my travel and accomodation while I am in Munich for the interview?
Yes, of course. We are one of the top-notch social games companies in Europe and we want the finest digital creatives and coders there are.
How long after my interview until MegaZebra tells me about their decision?
If you apply for a vacancy, we will give you the thumbs up (or down) within 3 weeks at the latest (depending on the number of applicants).
If you apply on the off-chance (speculative application) and MegaZebra cannot fit you in at the moment, we'll keep your information on file for a later time. (If you don't object.)
I would love to take the plunge, but am not sure about moving to another country?
No worries! Germany is not just any country. Easy to get around, public transport is fast and efficient, most Germans speak English at some basic level, if you don't mind "zeir" endearing accent. At MegaZebra, we have a truly international environment with more than 10 nationalities represented. MegaZebra's founders have all spent significant parts of their careers overseas. We communicate in English, both in the office and when we head off for some after-work fun to unwind. Anything from home that you miss? Chances are, Munich has it (short of your mother's home-cooking). You will soon love it here.
I don't know the formalities and work permit requirements…
No worries, send us your application. If you are hired, we'll help you with the paperwork.
If I am hired, how do I go about finding a place to stay?
Munich is a very popular city, but also a big place. Most of us at MegaZebra have moved here from some other city in Germany, country or even continent. We'll gladly help you to find a nice place or apartment to rent.
