Life in Munich

Set against the impressive backdrop of the Alps, the Bavarian capital is the city for all seasons. Head off to the English Gardens, with its countless trails and the occasional nudist sunbather, to play football, frisbee, even cricket or surf on the Eisbach river. In autumn, the Oktoberfest lures everyone (including the Zebras) to the Wiesn' to huddle in beer tents and make many new friends. Time for a blast?  Check out Europe's largest party zone Kulturfabrik, a  former pasta factory, now packed with over 30 nightclubs and eateries catering to all (music) tastes.
Germans have a passion for soccer, and Munichers are no exception to the rule. Support one of our local teams, FC Bayern Munich or TSV 1860, the clubs of top players like Bastian Schweinsteiger, Franck Ribéry, and Arjen Robben. Want some outdoor excitement? Get out your skis, hiking shoes or climbing gear: With the mountains just round the corner, a direct train runs from Munich main train station to Germany's highest peak Zugspitze. While you're up there, take in the three-country view of Italy, Austria and Switzerland, all within easy reach.  No surprise then that Monocle Magazine ranked Munich as the world's "most liveable city". Good enough for MegaZebra to set up camp.

Munich combines the rustic charm of a hometown with the trendy chic and fun factor of New York.
